On *th November ****, My sister named Lily, aged ** years, requested a Rapido Ride from her mobile to go to her routine Bank Po classes at Career Launcher, Indirapuram. She left home at * am & at *:** am we received a call from Fortis Hospital Noida. The staff at the hospital informed us that she is heavily injured & has met with an accident. Upon hearing this news I & my family rushed to the hospital and we met a guy there who brought her to the hospital. He said that he was a passer-by and saw this girl lying on the road unconscious and was bleeding & the crowd was taking pictures. This guy named Naresh arranged an auto-rickshaw and admitted her to the hospital.
We learned from the patient that, Rapido driver was driving at the wrong side & my sister asked him not to do so. But he was driving ruthlessly and banged the bike somewhere on the road. She also informed us that the rider ran away from the incident place instead of informing us or taking my sister to the hospital. She was in the hospital for * days and has undergone severe injuries, she has been operated on the face, facial fracture, jaw fracture, * teeth broken. Knee has been injured & the doctor performed Plastic surgery. Her career, marriage is all on sake now.
Initially, Rapido was not responding, then I tweeted on Twitter then they called me & said " we will give you insurance" Instead of any sympathy, Such a shame !!
Police have registered the FIR No. **** & booked the rider under sections *** & *** at Sector ** Noida Police Station. This has been also published in the Times of India newspaper. We need justice for our sister & the pain, mental trauma and the harassment she is going through could have been avoided if the company would have kept professional riders. The effort & money going into the vein is a total waste now. She is not attending her class as her face is not as before. her gums & new teeth will cost us too.
