On **rd November **** (Saturday) my husband (Amit Kumar Chandan) and I (Mumtaz) received calls from Mr. Sanjay and Miss Riya Sharma saying that we have won a free voucher, movie ticket, holiday package from their company and need to visit them which I denied and told them that I am with a little baby and can’t go, but they keep on insisting to visit them once.
We went to their office on Sunday **th November **** and was attended by Mr. Tarun Dutta, Travel consultant and Mr. Moti Ranjan Mohanti, Venue Manager. They gave us a presentation for more than * hour and used all tactics to lure us in taking their membership in a holiday package. They cleverly pressed us by saying many things and didn’t give any time to think about it. While signing the agreement they didn't mention anything on non-refundable clause nor asked us to read the agreement. Whereas they said many times if we are not happy with the services our money would be refunded. We were with a little baby and * years old daughter and in haste, we end paying Rs.*****/- as a down payment for a *-year membership plan at around * pm that day.
Once we reached home we calculated their offers and searched websites and came across many online complaints of consumers against this Company – their hotels are not even * stars, all hotels are of tie-up, they have many hidden charges which is not mentioned, they have worst customer support, etc. and they duped people in a similar way calling them on the name of free voucher, movie tickets and then pressing them to take membership.
Hence, immediately I called them around * pm that evening (**th November, Sunday) and asked them not to process our file as we won’t be able to take the membership/plan ahead as we are with a little baby and have daughter's schooling and we calculated the entire plan financially its not feasible for us to continue and our money would get wasted.
The next day on ** November, my husband went to their office in Ansal Plaza and told them regarding our inability to continue with the plan and requested them to make a refund of our down payment.
After that every day we are following them by calls, emails, messages for a refund, which they are clearly rejecting by saying “Its mentioned in the agreement as non-refundable” and pressing us to take the package/ holiday.
Yesterday *th December **** after so many follow up, calls we received a mail stating that out of ₹*****/- they would refund ₹***** only after deducting ₹***** as their Admin charges. This is so unfair on their part.
I personally spoke with them and offered a **% deduction from my principle amount as their Admin charges. But they want **% of my money without my fault and doing nothing for me.
We put all our points to them but they are not listening.
(i) We took a decision in haste as we were with two kids in their office and the representatives didn’t give any time to think on it nor did they mentioned that the down payment is nonrefundable. They even didn't ask us to read the agreement.
(ii) We informed them within * hours the same day Sunday so no file was processed by Admin, nor have we received any documents from them to date, why the Admin charges are payable.
(iii) It is a service sector company and we have not taken any services from them.
(iv) at the time of the meeting they have clearly said if you are not satisfied with their services our money would be refunded.
We are having sleepless nights and mental trauma on the thought of losing this much money without any of our faults. Rs.***** is a big amount for us.
We shall be grateful to Voxya to address our grievance and help us to get our money back.
