- Monetary Loss because of airline Open
This is for your information that I planned a trip to go to Port Blair from my workplace Jammu with my family on the **th of December, ****. I purchased my ticket from Make my trip. The journey comprised the first sector with Air India from Jammu to Delhi following same day Delhi to Bangalore and then Port Blair by Indigo Airlines. During my traveling to Jammu Airport on **th afternoon at *.** PM, I received a call from Air India mentioning the cancellation of my flight AI *** Jammu to Delhi. In a perplexing condition when I met Air India Manager Mr. Johnson Gill at Jammu airport and he explained that it was operational instructions conveyed to the passengers only before issuing the boarding pass. The weather outside was sunny and brilliant. Since I had connecting Indigo flights and * major Resorts booking at Port Blair, I had no option left but to buy two tickets for Rs. *****.** in Go Air airlines, however, all other airlines were completely filled up. Most importantly, since I am a hypertensive patient, to arrange money (hard cash), I had to rush to distant ATM to withdraw money. I started severely sweating at some points. All these could have been avoided if I could get the cancellation notification from AI one day ahead and in that case, I could have reached Delhi by train/bus to catch Indigo flight. Most surprisingly, I came to know from AI station manager Mr. Johnson Gill that AI flight (No.***) on that date (**th December ****) was directed to Delhi from Srinagar without making any stopover at Jammu at all.
However, AI later refunded Rs. ****.** towards the adjustment of our ticket from Jammu to Delhi.
Therefore, as a Government Servant, I strongly claim the reimbursement of Rs. *****.** (*****.**-****.**) from Air India which I had to spend to catch my connecting flights and consequent hotel bookings.
