- Manufacturing Defect Open
I made a purchase on Pepperfry.com for a corner sofa and a coffee table. When we received the products, the sofa had a manufacturing defect as the backrest between the two pieces do not join together. The coffee table had chipped, edges and a shoddy paint job. When you purchase big ticket items, you hope the company would take accountability and co-operate. I placed the return request for both items the next day. I received emails from representatives assigned to both cases and i was promised a call back for a resolution. The next day I receive a text stating I would be visited by a carpenter. This was infuriating because this wasn't discussed with me. I tried calling the number for both case managers and there was no response. Why should I spend thousands and get items that require repair? I received a call today from the case manager about the sofa, Pooja Acharya, and she decides to first force a carpenter visit on me and then proceeded to threaten me that they will not be accepting a refund. The carpenter came and realized that it was indeed a defect with the legs of the sofa and he would need to repair it. I refused the repair on principle. If it's new, it better be new. It's ridiculous and this is causing me a lot of anxiety. I absolutely don't appreciate getting threatened. I would request you to please help me with this.
