- Fraudulent Charging of Roaming Charges even after requesting disconnection of the same Open
i have had the most harrowing * months with airtel customer care for my postpaid number. it started on *th may when i requested for deactivation of roaming in my child number. the customer care executive assured me that there was no need to deactivate the same as the same has been already deactivated. satisfied with the same i flew to my destination knowing safely there would be no charges. when i landed in the destination on *th may i did not check my phone as the same was in my bag and headed out to the hotel. since it was late i headed straight to bed.
much to my surprise the next morning i receive a message on the child number that i have used up data worth ***** on my number! i was shocked and immediately switched off the same!
when i got back to india i even checked with the customer care who assured my that the same was a mistake from airtel and would be rectified. * months later and after appealing with the appleate authority i still dont have any relief even though i have recorded proof *which btw they are pretending to ignore by saying the call was dropped(thats airtel network for you)* and messages to prove that airtel did not deactivate roaming services in time even though i requested the same.

this is in reference to your email seeking clarification on international roaming charges in the bill for your airtel mobile number **********.
i understand your concern for ir billing charges in the bill dated **-**-****. i had escalated your issue to the concerned team and as per revert from the team, our advisor has placed the call on hold to check the status of ir services on ********** based on your request. however, the call was dropped in middle of conversation. post that, we have not received any call from your end to deactivate ir services on your number ***********.
also, advisor has not confirmed that ir services has been deactivated on your number. as checked in bill, you have used ir services in m******. hence, you have been charged as per standard rates. we will not be able to initiate a reversal of charges levied on your account.
request you to keep a note of the following:
*. usage is charged as per the tariffs available on website.
*. packs and plans charging is applicable as per indian standard time.
*. there is a **% surcharge on the usage.
*. top-ups and discounts are not applicable for premium rate numbers / maritime / satellite / aero mobile / ship cruise or inmarsat. usage on these will be charged as per the charges applicable by the network provider.
*. if cli (calling line identification) is not shared by the respective network for incoming and outgoing calls, then customers own number will reflect in bill.
*. service tax of **% will be extra on bill value.
international roaming usage depends upon the inputs received from other operator. operators send usage details within ** days. the usage is verified by us and post successful validation the billing is processed.
your current outstanding amount is rs. *****.**/- for the bill dated **-**-**** and **-**-**** and payable by **-**-**** to avoid uninterrupted services.
