- Double charged for business class upgrade and baggage Closed
Received an email from Jet Airways asking me to bid to upgrade my flight ticket to Business Class. As I had excess baggage, 40 kgs, I thought this would be a good idea as Business Class allows baggage of upto 40kgs. The maximum bid amount was Rs 24,000 and I bid Rs 21,500. My bid was accepted however, when I went to check-in, I was advised that the amount extra baggage was not included as I hadn't "booked" a business class ticket only "upgraded via bidding" to one. I requested them to then cancel the bid and I would travel economy with excess baggage. However, they weren't able to do this either. So I had to pay another $11,000 at the airport terminal in cash. So Instead of buying a business class ticket which would have cost me Rs 24,000 more, Jet Airways ended up charging me Rs 32,500 for the same ticket when business class was also not full. Not only that during this whole process, the ground staff even manage to damage my luggage moving it from one check-in counter to the other. I demand an apology for the inconvenience and a full refund for the excess amount that I was charged.
