We bought a Oneplus smart tv on *th January **** from Amazon.in online shopping. It was installed on **th. We encountered the first problem on **th February and a complaint was lodged. The device wasn’t functioning properly. While in use the screen would suddenly go blank and then back to normal. The technician came and attended to it. **th February the second complain was lodged. The screen blanking (fluctuations) continued. The technicians would hold the set top box responsible most of the time. We’ve had a Tata Sky connection for long which we unnecessarily changed to airtel. Ultimately one of the technician said that the product is defective and has a faulty motherboard.
We received a mail from the company stating that the ‘warranty (service) was on hold’. The lockdown had begun already. On **th April, **th April and *nd May we continually received mails stating that the company was ‘waiting for the part’. We weren’t being able to get the services. On **th May we received a mail that the service personnel will arrive and on the same day another mail, cancelling the visit due to ‘communal restriction’. **th May another mail came in, wherein they claimed ‘site not ready’. They were constantly postponing. *st June our tv warranty claim was cancelled by amazon. Fed up with the harassment, we lodged another complaint on **th June, where we were informed that the personnel would visit on **rd. *th July the company mailed us again that he will come, but no visit has been paid till now. It has been close to * months that we are managing without a proper operating tv, especially during this difficult period of lockdown. It being a smart tv, we were using the device with support of a connected hotspot, somehow. We thought we had seen the worst already until the tv itself stopped working at all. The on/off button on the edge of the tv has not been working anymore for a long time. Now its just a showpiece fixed on the wall. Also, we noticed over time that the tv screen has a distortion too. The assembled product as a whole is completely damaged.
We have been regular with shopping at Amazon with groceries and other purchases. Never experienced this kind of harassment from the company. Worst experience!! Never buy electronics from Amazon! Highly, highly disappointed! We now seek redressal from Amazon for all the hassle and mental agony caused to us in the form of refund with immediate action.
