I contacted Nilesh patil - hathway broadband representative kandivali west, regarding internet connection setup on friday, **th August ****. He asked me to pay amount for * months together so that they will start with the setup from sunday. On Sunday around *:** - *pm, I informed him that there is no internet wire so send the engineer to start with the wiring and other work. But since it was evening and there was shortage of staff he said he will definitely send someone on monday but he did not confirm at what time the engineer will come. So I said fine send the engineer tomorrow. I called him on Monday morning around **am, to give him a reminder and he said he has informed the engineer and the engineer will visit my place in sometime. I patiently waited for the engineer till *pm and I lost my cool. So I called Nilesh to ask why the engineer hasn't come yet, upon which Nilesh's reply was "Why are you calling me so late you should have called me by *-*pm".
Is it the customers duty to follow up with the employee or is it Nilesh's duty to follow up with his employees ?
At around *pm he told me he will contact his engineer and send him soon. It was *pm I called Nilesh again to check on the status upon which he told me he is trying to contact the engineer and he will contact me as soon as replies.
I again waited till *pm no call back from Nilesh. So I called him again and he tells me the engineer is not responding he will come on Tuesday i.e **th August ****.
I missed office on Monday, I i.e **th August, I am going to loose half day on Tuesday i.e **th August **** (Provided the engineer comes else I will have to take Tuesday off too) My pay for Monday is gone, Tuesday also half day pay is gone and if engineer doesn't show up, I'll loose my pay for Tuesday too.
In these fickle times, when employees are getting laid off, so many leaves won't put a good remark especially when there is lots of work on priority.
My complaint is that if you are asking the customer that you will give them a particular service on a particular day you have to give them, your commitment is the reason why I made full payment for *months and now you are giving excuses.
I could have gone to other ISP they could have definitely done the setup on Monday. But the only reason I went to hathway because I had used their services before and I was satisfied.
But not in this case.
