I had booked home collection blood test for my mother, Mrs. Kunjalata Sharma with Metropolis Lab (NABL Accredited), the details of which are provided in the attachment herewith. The test was scheduled for **th August, ****, **:** - **:** AM time slot. I was informed that the technician details will be provided just before the preferred appointment. In the morning of **th August, when I did not get the details as mentioned, I grew suspicious and called the Lab helpline where I was informed that the online bookings are almost never entertained without any intimation to the patient, whatsoever and the tests are only booked over phone. Nothing of that sort was mentioned in their website. If such were the case, I should have been informed by a call or an SMS to confirm my booking over phone only but no such communication was received by me. My mother is an anemic with a high cholestrol, low BP and is in the prediabetic stage. She had fasted for ** hours and also did not take any medications for ** hours as were the requirements of the test. After all this harassment, the test were also not conducted. The lab representatives refused to take any complaint or grievance in this regard and I was asked to make a fresh booking over phone for the next day. The result was that my mother was almost in the verge of being hospitalised.
I request hereby to issue a show cause notice to the Lab as to why a compensation should not be paid to me for all this suffering and as to why proceedings should not be initiated against the Lab.
