- Damaged product delivered Open

I had bought a bedside cabinet through amazon (seller is Santosha decor). The product was delivered 7 days later than the scheduled delivery period. Also the packaging was such that had to arrange a carpenter to open it. It took me more than 12 days to arrange for the same. The product was damaged which on complaining the seller agreed to return it. When I insisted on courier charges the seller denied return by saying that 10 day return period is over.there are three points of my argument
1) product is damaged . I am not asking for a return like many others do just because they don’t want to buy it anymore.
2) if the seller has the right to delay delivery by 7 days does he have moral right to give 2 days as an excuse to deny return.
3) since he has agreed to return it in first place how come he later on deny taking it back (just because I insisted on courier charges).
