- Bata charging for paper bag despite court ruling Open
Despite a fine on Bata India recently for charging Rs. * from the consumer in Chandigarh, it seems the company has no intention of stopping in fleecing customers. I purchased slippers form their shop at Sector **, Faridabad and the retailer had included the cost of a paper bag as Rs. *. Is this justified, especially since I am already buying stuff from their shop? How do they want me to take the stuff back home? On my head? Also, since they are putting big branding on that paper bag so I am also advertising the product to people around and at the same time paying for it. On asking to not charge money for Paper Bag the store man refused. It was an irritating and bad experience and I think the company should start respecting the courts of India and their ruling and stop this unethical practice.
