- Bad quality furniture Open
On **nd May ****, we some furniture - shoe-rack, console table, one mirror and a three-mirror set, from an online furniture seller called ‘Woodenstreet’, worth Rs **,***/-. (Order ID: *****, * order description forms sent by the company, and bank statement showing payment are attached). The purchase order was generated on **nd May ****, and after some delay the furniture were delivered at the end of July ** at Kolkata.
Within a month or so, the shoe rack doors were not closing, the wood had expanded and bent, and the tiles had come off. The tiles on the mirror started cracking due to the shrinkage of wood. On **th September I wrote a mail to the customer support of the company along with the pictures (pictures attached). I also spoke with Ms. Mahima of customer care who promised that the carpenter would visit us in a day or two and would take care of the problem. She also sent me an email confirmation in this regard, dated **th September ****.
The carpenter didn’t come. I enquired again on *nd October ****, I was again told that he would come in a day or two. But again no one turned up. Thereafter I had been calling their customer support and writing emails, but there has been no communication from the company. I also wrote over LinkedIn to Mr Likhvendra Singh Rathore, who is the GM Operations. While he acknowledged my message, there was no promise or follow-up action from him.
We feel cheated and harassed. We had waited enough for them to rectify the defects in the product. On **th January **** we wrote them a final email, and also sent a hardcopy through speed post to their registered office, telling them if the problem is not taken care of in * weeks’ time (*nd March ****) we will lodge a formal complaint in the consumer forum.
