My Flipkart Account was blocked on the morning of October **, ****. When I contacted through the Toll Free Number on the Customer Care Service (on the same day), Flipkart representative informed that my account would be unblocked in a short while or within the next ** hours. However, I was unsatisfied with the response, and so, I contacted the Toll Free Number a second time, I was informed that it was merely a technical issue and would be resolved by **:** PM on October **, ****.
However, on October **, ****, I received a mail from Flipkart representative of the Flipkart Customer Support team, saying that "my purchase history suggests that items purchased by me are not intended for my personal use, and that I will no longer be able to login to my Flipkart account."
I have tried to explain to Flipkart that all the items ordered by me on Flipkart were exclusively meant for personal use only, and were in no way meant for resale or commercial purposes. I also gave them the following reasons-
*. My daughter, for whom I was purchasing the clothing items, is very skinny and short-heighted. So, it is very difficult to find clothes that fit her perfectly and suit her body type. Due to this, I often have to buy multiple sizes of the same clothing item, as there is uncertainty on which size will fit her well.
*. I have only bought 'Small' (S) and 'Extra-small' (XS) sizes of clothing items, in the anticipation that they will fit my daughter.
*. However, the fitting of clothes varies widely across different brands (even for the same size), and according to the fabric and texture of the clothing. So, in spite of ordering the clothes after checking the measurement details at the website, the clothes often don't fit properly, forcing me to order more clothes, and return those that do not fit.
*. Further, sometimes, the items of clothing delivered are defective or not 'fresh pieces'. Additionally, it has also been the case that the waist size of the clothing ordered as described on the website and the actual waist size of the clothing delivered are remarkably different, again forcing me to re-order and return things.
*. Lastly, a customer cannot gather everything about the clothing items, by simply looking at the pictures and details on the website. The actual fitting is very often completely different, varying with body size and type. This has also led me to re-order and return items.
Moreover, even after my account was blocked on October **, ****, a few items of clothing were delivered to me on the next day i.e. October **, ****. It was gross injustice on their part to firstly block my account on no concrete grounds and on top of that, to deliver items even after the account was blocked. Had they felt a problem with my purchasing history, they should not have allowed me to place orders in the first place, or should not have delivered the items after the account was blocked.
Additionally, had I intended to order items at Flipkart not for personal use with a malafide intention, I would have resorted to using multiple accounts for that purpose and would also have used the 'Pay Later Option', while ordering the items. Also, I have mostly returned the clothing items within ** hours of their delivery, again showing that I intended them for my personal use only.
Due to all this, I have clothes worth Rs. **,*** with me, which I am being forced to keep me, irrespective of whether they fit my daughter or not, or whether she likes them or not, simply because my account has been blocked, due to which I can neither return nor exchange these items.
Still there has been no appropriate communication from there side, in response to the explanation provided by me, and they have not unblocked my account.
I have made similar purchases online on other platforms like Amazon and Myntra but have not faced such mental and financial harassment there. I have not done anything wrong, as neither have I indulged in any sort of commercial resale of clothes, nor have I returned the clothes after wearing, using or damaging them.
