Defective item delivered by Paytm Open

Complaint filed against: PayTM
The sony external 2TB hdd was dead on arrival. Filed a return within 15 days as mentioned in paytm product site/page. Paytm is delaying return approval by asking id proof, snapshots of package etc. After sending all details now they are asking me to go to nearest service center to get a letter from them to process the return. Whereas there is no mention of such requirements in the paytm product sale page. Can you help me get my money back.
